A Hamburger Today

Right before Elliott's birthday I came across a blog about these cupcakes. Someone had actually mistaken her cupcakes for a slider. They were pretty disappointed that it wasn't real meat. I thought the whole thing looked pretty cool so I had to try it.
Chocolate Cupcakes
Yellow Cupcakes
I made the two different kinds of cupcake and a few different colors of frosting, including red and yellow.
A little bit of green-colored coconut and some sesame seeds and it was finished.

John Deere

My dad is a lawn mowing expert and a big fan of John Deere. When we lived in Iowa we visited the John Deere factory there and went to the museum in Illinois twice. For his birthday I made him a John Deere lawn mower. It will not rival any of Ace of Cake's cakes for accuracy but it turned out alright. If I had to do it over again I would redo the handle!

Here is a side view.

This is the cake I made for a wedding shower. The couple was going to get married in Las Vegas, and not at a wedding chapel either :) The theme for the party had to be Vegas so card cakes seemed appropriate.

I took two sheet cakes and cut them appropriately. the center symbols are made out of chocolate from a mold I purchased.

Here is a picture at the shower. I made mini cupcakes to go with the theme as well. The chips and dice are made of chocolate.

Cookie Monster

A few years back my mom gave me her Wilton cake pans that she bought when we were kids. I tried out the 1979 Cookie Monster cake pan for a one year old's birthday. Above is the finished product.

Here are the box and the pan.
Here are the cupcakes I made because I was nervous that the cake would not feed all of the people at the party.
